When I bought my studio (an old house that belonged to my friend & neighbor before she went into the nursing home), there were lots of old spice tins & bottles in the cabinet. I hung on to them waiting to use them. Several years later, I figured it out!Â
I'm pretty sure this was an old snuff tin! (Yes, this one is empty!) I topped it with a snowman I sculpted from paperclay. Measures about 3.5" tall.
This was a tin of sage. I a banner from pages from an old book and painted Â "boo" on it, then topped it with a paperclay pumpkin head with crazy eyes! His hat is an old metal cake decorating tip. Measures about 5.5".
This was a tin of cloves--I left them in there because they smell so good! I added some bones from some pages from an old book Â and added some color and added some black decorations with paint. then topped it with a paperclay skull with bright colors! For the finishing touch, I added a hat made from an old metal cake decorating tip and some coloful yarn. Â Measures about 9" tall.
I added a banner to this tin made from some pages from an old book. I added some color to the banner and painted "meow." across the bottom, then added a hand-sculpted & hand-painted tuxedo kitty head with a hat! Measures 5.5" tall.
Made of an old tin toy cup, old thread spool, assorted fibers and an old black cat cupcake pick. About 3.75" tall.
Made of old toy tin dishes, an antique doll head and other various pieces of found items. Measures about 6" tall.

I made these out of old baby shoes, pieces of old quilt, lace trim & buttons. Price is per shoe and I have 2!

Carl is made of painted muslin with painted and stitched features. His base is a piece of recycled baseboard...he has a gold tulle collar!
Pumpkin head is hand-sculpted from paperclay, painted, distressed & antiqued. I put him on a green thread spool that still has the paper label on it.
Fabric shelf sitter, painted & aged with sculpted features and button eyes. Has a floral print collar with an antique button, painted wooden wings. Measures approximately 12" tall, 14" across wings.
Wooden shadow box with paper clay moon inside. Moon is completely hand-sculpted and hand-painted. On the outside of the box I printed words from a favorite poem by Carl Sandburg. One-of-a-kind original, comes signed & dated.
His head is hand-sculpted from paper clay with a 3-dimensional nose, hand-painted & antiqued. His body is an old textile cone painted pink with distressed paper with some of the words to "Winter Wonderland". He has multi-colored bead strands around his neck and the bottom of his cone. I added 3-D snow to his nose and cone and he hangs by a wire. Meausures approximately 10" tall not including the hanger.
